Xyratex Certified Performance Specialist Training

The Xyratex Certified Performance Specialist (XCPS) Training program is designed to certify engineers on Xyratex 5000 and 6000 series RAID storage products. Once you complete this course you will be able to describe the relationship between IO/s, MB/s, and response time and how access methods, IO transfer size, command queuing and workloads affect the performance of the entire system from the application to the disk drive. You will understand the performance implications of RAID levels, drive types, number of drives, chunk size and caching and how they affect the customers’ application requirements. You will know all controller architectures, where performance bottlenecks occur, and how to design an optimum performance subsystem. You will be able to read and analyze techsupport and command time trace files and debug performance related issues. You will know the methods available to calibrate overall subsystem performance to achieve the maximum subsystem performance available or explain to the customer why they are getting the results they have. You will be able to justify and set proper performance expectations based on an entire system analysis and advise customers how to configure their arrays based on their specific application requirements. Once you complete the training and pass the certification test you will be XCPS certified. This certification ensures your success as a Performance Specialist on the Xyratex F5404E, E5412E, F6412E, and F6500E RAID products.
